Why we remember 9/11

Thirteen years ago today America experienced a terrorist attack to the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers and the Pentagon, a fourth plane was hijacked but civilians took control and the plane crashed into a Pennsylvania field.

We remember 9/11 each year to honor the over 3,000 lives lost, over 400 were police officers and firefighters, and the thousands that lost friends and family. 9/11 is also a day where Americans came together to cope with the tragedy.

The younger generation that was not alive, or very young, during the attack and the time of grief and fear that followed may not quite understand the emotion over this day but respect should also be shown.
